500W GeneratorAll equipment and appliances in our motorhomes and caravans are fully operational using the 12 volt battery and camping gas supplied by us in the vehicle. However you will not be able to use the 230V 3 pin (household) sockets in the vehicle unless you are connected to a 230V mains electricity supply such as on a campsite, or connected to a generator providing 240V. If you wish to take and use your own 230V appliances, such as a mobile 'phone charger, your own TV or CD player or a hairdryer for instance, and you are not going to have access to mains hook-up at your campsite location(s) then you will need to use a generator. They are also especially useful for caravan hires to maintain charge in the caravan 12V battery (motorhome batteries are of course charging whilst the vehicle engine is running). Our generators run on unleaded fuel and are relatively quiet due to their small size. They are not designed to operate continuously throughout the day or to power large numbers of items/vehicles at once. For security, all generators are provided with chain and padlock to secure them to the vehicle when in use. The generators are provided full of fuel but we strongly recommend that hirers take their own fuel can (unleaded petrol) in order to refill the generator fuel tank as necessary during your hire. Back to Top >>>Bedding PackOur bedding packs consist of a sleeping bag plus pillow and pillowcase per person. Although primarily aimed at clients travelling from overseas (as the majority of our UK clients supply their own duvets, blankets or sleeping bags) we can equip any vehicle with these packs if required. Prices are calculated per person, not per week. We would be happy to provide bedding packs free of charge to clients flying into the country and hiring for fourteen days or more. In these circumstances towels and additional blankets can also be supplied if required. All televisions are supplied with instructions, remote control and 12V, 230V and aerial leads. Aerial leads will plug directly into our caravans and motorhomes to get the best signal from the roof-mounted TV aerials. Our televisions are also European compliant so will provide a full service if you are travelling within the UK or Europe, despite the different frequencies and television systems used across the continent. Aerial leads will plug directly into our caravans and motorhomes to get the best television channel signal from the roof-mounted omni-directional aerials. The video facilities allow playback and recording options on standard VHS video cassettes. Our TV/Video and TV/DVD units are also European compliant so will provide a full service if you are travelling within the UK or Europe, despite the different frequencies and television systems used across the continent. Back to Top >>>13 Pin AdapterAll our caravans are manufactured to current UK specifications and therefore are fitted with two 7-pin towing connectors. The main connector (known as the 12N plug) provides connections for the caravan external lighting with the supplementary connector (known as the 12S plug) providing connections to charge the caravan battery, provide power to the caravan fridge whilst towing and so on. However, some towcars, such as Audi, BMW, VW and Mercedes do not fit twin 7-pin sockets, but use one 13-pin connector. Our 13-pin adapter enables you to connect your towcar with a 13-pin socket to our caravans with 2 x 7-pin plugs. This means that they will run from the batteries in our caravans and motorhomes without the need to have either a generator or a mains electricity connection. All Video units are supplied with instructions, remote control and 12V, 230V and aerial leads. Aerial leads will plug directly into any standard television aerial socket. The video facilities allow playback and recording options on standard VHS video cassettes. Most commonly hired when clients know they will be able to use their own portable televisions because they have a mains electrical connection on a campsite, but cannot/do not wish to take their own video player as well. Because our video players will run from 12V this allows the television to be powered from a 230V socket in the hire vehicle without trying to use 'multi-sockets' or having to stretch power leads across the vehicle! Back to Top >>>Delivery & Collection ServicesWhilst many of our clients collect their hire vehicle from our site near Salisbury on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border, we can deliver all of our caravans and motorhomes throughout the UK if required. Delivery rates are generally based on the mileage travelled from our site near Salisbury. Motorhomes are generally not as cost effective to deliver to any particular location than caravans as we have to take another car and driver to bring home the person delivering your motorhome. We regret this but feel that for reasons of our staff's personal safety we do not consider it is acceptable to expect our delivery drivers to 'hitch' home or to try to travel by public transport. Delivery and collection of caravans to and from events throughout the UK is very common. All delivery and collection services involve full siting and set-up of your vehicle so that it is ready for your immediate use. Hirers do not need to be on site when we deliver or collect, provided suitable siting instructions and key handover arrangements can be made. Back to Top >>>Awning (caravans only)We offer quality full-size awnings for our complete range of caravans. Each awning offers a variety of entrances and zip-out panels to give maximum flexibility during use. All awnings are the approximate length of the caravan and extend around 7ft - 8ft from the caravan, so virtually doubling the space you can use. All awnings are suitable for dry or wet weather conditions. All of our awnings are supplied with full instructions, quality pegs, quality mallet and guy-lines (if required). Awnings are not supplied with groundsheets but we can supply these on a sale (not hire) basis if clients require one. The awnings are relatively straightforward to erect or dismantle but we would suggest that really it is a two person job. Should you wish us to erect your awning on delivery of your caravan then we would be happy to do so provided this service has been booked in advance (our usual rate as shown on the Hire Rates page would apply). Back to Top >>>Awning Erection & Dismantling (caravans only)If we are delivering your caravan to a site or event then we would be happy to erect and dismantle any awning hired from us. Many clients book this service in order that on their arrival everything is ready for their immediate use. The price quoted on our Hire Rates page shows the cost of both awning erection and dismantling. This includes frame assembly, canvas attachment, all pegging of the awning and hanging of interior curtains. Back to Top >>>Towing Mirrors (caravans only)We have a range of extended mirrors to give extra assistance when towing caravans. The increased mirror width allows clear vision to the sides and behind the caravan, greatly reducing any possible 'blind-spot'. The mirrors attach to the existing mirrors on your towcar and will fit most cars. We strongly recommend that hirers seriously consider the use of extended mirrors whilst towing our caravans as we feel there are significant safety benefits. Back to Top >>>Cycle Rack (motorhomes only)Our cycle racks are purpose built racks fitted to the rear of our motorhomes designed to carry up to four cycles, to a maximum weight of 60kg. The racks are fitted with wheel straps and bars to secure the cycles but we recommend that, if possible, clients bring additional straps to secure the cycles fully. Back to Top >>>Free Car ParkingClients are welcome to leave their car with us for the duration of their hires. There is no charge for this service and clients vehicles will be stored in our fenced and locked yard in view of our closed circuit TV cameras along with our hire fleet. Please be aware that we need to retain the keys to any vehicles left with us in case of emergency. All vehicles are left at owners risk and we can accept no responsibility for any damage or loss. Back to Top >>>Airport & Train Station pickup and setdownWe are happy to collect clients from, or setdown clients at, local trains stations or from any major airport as required. For rail passengers we suggest using Salisbury station or Grateley station, both on the railway mainline out of London Waterloo. Pickups and setdowns from these stations are free of charge. If clients are flying into the UK then we can meet you at Arrivals at most airports.
